THE UPSTAIRS boasts fantastic collections of both wine and spirits, offering the best of French and California wines in addition to an assortment of bourbons found nowhere else in Virginia.  While renovating THE UPSTAIRS, we added a state-of-the-art, walk-in wine cellar to store our offerings in an optimal environment.

The Best Bourbon in Virginia

Mr. Mark Brown, owner of THE UPSTAIRS and Kentucky native, has acquired the finest collection of bourbons available in Virginia.  Amongst the bourbons is the legendary Pappy Van Winkle Collection, including the 12-year, 15-year, 20-year and 23-year bourbons; these are considered to be some of the finest bourbons in the world today.  In addition, THE UPSTAIRS has the rare Antique Collection produced by Buffalo Trace; this collection includes Eagle Rare 17-year, William Larue Weller 117.9 proof, George T. Stagg 144.8 proof, Sazerac 18-year and Thomas H. Handy 134.8 proof.  All told, THE UPSTAIRS offers more than thirty Kentucky bourbons and ryes.

Tasting Flights

THE UPSTAIRS has created an innovative menu of tasting flights to introduce customers to the finest selection of premium spirits currently available in Virginia.  Interested?  We thought so!  Here's how it works: choose a flight from a genre of liquor (ie bourbon, rye, cognac, tequila, etc.), and then taste three half-ounce pours of each spirit.  This allows the customer to sample a large pool of premium spirits at a greatly reduced cost while learning which you prefer.  After a taste, you'll be able to order full size drinks with confidence in our selection of premium liquors!
